Northwest Pathwork and Core Energetics is the first training Center for Core Energetics in the Northwest.  The training is a four year program designed to build a foundation for a professional practice integrating physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth and development.

THE UNIFICATION OF OUR MIND-BODY-EMOTION-& SPIRIT OCCURS THROUGH OUR ENERGY SYSTEM.  LEARNING THE PRINCIPLES OF CORE ENERGETICS & THE PATHWORK WILL  HELP YOU DEVELOP  A TRULY WHOLISTIC PRACTICE.

THE GOAL OF OUR WORK IS TO LIVE FROM OUR TRUE ESSENCE

“The core is the human being’s whole capacity, a glowing, vital mass, both the source and the perceiver of the life force.  The core has complete unity... a process in which every person knows the truth instinctively by sensing the pulse of life... the core’s movements are the primal positive emotions, or movements to make contact and unify with the outside world.  These can be summed up as one supreme expression: love.”

John Pierrakos

WHAT IS A TRAINING IN ENERGY AND CONSCIOUSNESS?

All the universe is a manifestation of energy and consciousness.  The integrated understanding of how people function at all levels of existence including physical, emotional, psychological, will and intention, archetypal and transpersonal, and spiritual is the study of human energy and consciousness.  Although this is a big undertaking, learning to understand the principles of energetic patterns and the principals of human consciousness and development make health, healing, emotional and spiritual growth understandable as parts of a larger whole.  The principles of energy and consciousness will help you understand what connects mind,  body, and spirit, and give you a structure and specific tools to help  people on their path toward growth, healing, and love.

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

This training is designed for therapists, somatic practitioners,  physicians, health professionals, somatic psychotherapists or body psychotherapists and other practitioners who want to be truly wholistic and include mind, body, and spirit in their work.  You may already be skilled in one or more aspects of working with people, for instance as a psychotherapist or as a somatic practitioner, but you find you want to include more knowledge of psychosomatic or spiritual growth in your work and need a model and tools.  Virtually all practitioners are somewhat eclectic and this training will provide a theoretical base for integrating a wide range of mind, body, and spirit disciplines as well as practical tools and a supportive environment for  learning and practicing the application of methods for working with people at all levels.  So whether you are a psychotherapist looking to integrate somatic work or transpersonal psychology into your practice, or a somatic practitioner looking to enhance the healing partnership or integrate emotional growth into your practice this training would help you.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT TO GET OUT OF THE TRAINING?

•You will learn what makes a healing container and assess your strengths and weaknesses in creating the healing container and relationships necessary for healing and growth.

•You will learn principles of human growth and development that will help you assess and work with people at all levels of health and development  appropriate to your practice.

•You will learn specific tools and techniques of somatic psychotherapy to work with people physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually that are grounded in the best science and psychological theories of today

•You will learn the structure for a professional and successful practice

•You will learn what  separates the average practitioner from the exceptional one, and get the supervision to assist you in becoming the best you can be.

•You should also expect to have opportunities for examining yourself and your ways of relating that will stretch your  limits and increase your capacities personally and professionally.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT AND STRUCTURE?

We will meet  4 times a year for 4 day weekends  thursday morning through sunday afternoon.  Between these meetings there will be at least one meeting attended by faculty to review, answer ongoing integration and supervision questions, and discuss readings.  There may also be additional non-lead or student lead study groups for peer teaching, peer supervision, or discussion of class materials.

Students will be required to have at least 20 sessions/year with an approved therapist, and   beginning in the second year at least 12 session/year of supervision with an approved supervisor.

WHY PICK THIS TRAINING FROM AMONG THE MANY OPTIONS?

First of all,  this is a training that approaches the physical, emotional, psychological, intentional, and spiritual nature of people explicitly.  If you desire the theoretical and practical tools for approaching all these aspects of people you have eliminated all but a handful of trainings.  Second, many trainings that include a ‘spiritual’ component are either borrowing from another spiritual tradition or are using spiritual concepts that are universal and thus less specific. The Pathwork is a highly developed, very specific set of spiritual teachings that are intrinsic to our training and include material found nowhere else. Third, this training is based in an energetic model of  organismic functioning.  If you want to understand and use Character Analysis or other energetic  tools, this training will prepare you for the literature and perceptive experiences that go along with this material.  Many body psychotherapies have tried to simplify their teachings by eliminating the energetic understanding and much of the richness is lost. Fourth,  any choice of training should be grounded in your experience that this type of work, and the people who are teaching it, are a good fit for you. The two main faculty are among the most experienced and professional teachers of this work and have taught at many other institutes and we will be inviting other senior faculty as well.  No one training can be the best in all things, but we will endeavor to make this the most grounded, professional, clear, and responsive training available for students of somatic psychotherapy and of energy and consciousness.
